1) WHAT IS THE FRENCH RIVIERA FILM FESTIVAL?
French Riviera Film Festival (FRFF) was founded to recognize and celebrate short-form content created for film, television, Web and all digital platforms. Held annually in Cannes, France during May, FRFF truly resonates with the independent and diverse spirit of filmmakers seeking to showcase their talent at the French Riviera.

2) WHAT TYPE OF SHORT FILMS DO YOU ACCEPT?
FRFF accepts short-form content from all over the world. The short film must be produced not earlier than January 2018, must be less than 40 minutes in length, and the filmmaker must be 16 years or older at the time of submission. The filmmaker doesn’t have to be French or have their content in French, but all must have English subtitles if not in English language. 

3) HOW DO I SUBMIT A SHORT FILM ONLINE?
All submissions must be submitted via FilmFreeway. Click here to submit your short film.

4) HOW ARE SUBMISSIONS JUDGED?
All submissions will be judged for creativity, quality, and originality by a prestigious jury panel that will include veterans and notables of the film industry. The Festival will select Best Drama Short, Best Comedy Short, Best Documentary Short, Best Animation Short, Best Experimental Short, Best Lifestyle Short, Best Fashion Short, Best Music Video, Best Screenplay, Best Female Filmmaker Award (DO WE WANT THIS ?), Best Director Award, Best Actor Award, Best Actress Award, and Industry Excellence Award.

5) WHAT DO THE WINNERS RECEIVE?
Winners will receive a trophy and a certificate.

6) CAN I SUBMIT A FILM VIA MAIL?
No. If you are encountering difficulties submitting your film via FilmFreeway, please contact the Film Festival management team at gothamc@frenchrivierafilmfestival.com.

7) CAN ONE PERSON SUBMIT MORE THAN ONE FILM?
Yes. One person can submit multiple films. For each submission you must fill out a separate entry form and pay a separate fee.

8) I SUBMITTED A FILM LAST YEAR; IS IT OK FOR ME TO PARTICIPATE IN THE FESTIVAL AGAIN THIS YEAR?
Yes, so long as your submission meets the requirements of the Terms and Conditions of the French Riviera Film Festival.

9) DOES PREMIERE STATUS MATTER?
No. Your short film doesn’t have to be a premiere to qualify.

10) CAN I SUBMIT TO THE FRFF IF I’VE ALREADY SUBMITTED TO OTHER FESTIVALS AND AM STILL WAITING TO HEAR BACK?
Yes, submitting to other festivals does not negatively impact your film submission.

11) HOW WILL I BE NOTIFIED IF MY FILM WINS AN AWARD?
All finalists will be invited to an awards presentation event, at which point they will be notified of their prize at a ceremony at an exclusive event. However, if you’re unable to attend the festival in person, you will be notified about your victory via an official email and the trophy and certificate will then be shipped to your address. 

12) WHERE ARE THE FESTIVAL MOVIES SCREENED? 
The festival screens movies at the LOHO auditorium located inside the Eden Hotel and Spa in Cannes, France. 

13) ARE FILMS IN THE FESTIVAL RATED?
Most films at the festival have not been rated by the Motion Picture Association of America. Ratings are listed when applicable. Please read the film descriptions, do your own research on sites like Common Sense Media, and choose responsibly.

14) CAN I CONTRIBUTE TO THE FESTIVAL IN OTHER WAYS?
Yes! Sponsorships are available in at a variety of levels and benefits. VIP memberships also support the festival in a big way and VIPs receive great perks like priority access, reserved seating, and more. Please reach out to: gothamc@frenchrivierafilmfestival.com
